The first #PKNUFiSH post is on the all important task of washing laundry and specifically on the setting up of the card and using facilities.
In order to do your laundry at PKNU you will have to buy a payment card from the laundry room on B1 in the dorm building* which will set you back ₩1000. The instructions are in English for the most part, which is refreshing in the dorms given everything else is 98% Korean with no translation.
Once you have your card you will need to recharge it with ₩ as each load of washing costs ₩1300 to wash and again to dry**
Using the machines is reasonably simple as the numbering system indicates the sequence to follow when beginning a load of washing. There are also instructions on the wall and they are in both Korean and English.
If you don’t by liquid/powder before doing the washing you can get it for ₩500 from the laundry room. Alternately you could purchase a bottle of it from the GS25, Megamart or any other convenience store, maybe going halves with your roommate.
The only hurdle you will face is when selecting your cycle. Through the magic of Google Translate we determined that the top option is Powerful and the second option is Standard.
Using the dryer is also just as simple and as with the washer for standard cycle select the second option. Note: my jeans were slightly damp on the waist after the 50mins were up so if you have a Korean friend who can help you add a little extra time (or I figure it out and let you know) try to do that if you can.
*I only have experience with Sejong Tower 11 so this may not apply to all locations.
**alternate to drying items in the laundry you can buy a clothes airer to put them in your room which but these vary in price and I liked the ability to dry my clothes on the same day as washing them.
